Browser Extension Policy

1. Before job detection is enabled

The extension does not inspect page URLs or visible page content until you select Allow job detection in the extension menu. The extension stores your choice, the disclosure version, and the time of your choice locally in your browser.

On https://waitingroom.work, the extension only marks itself as installed so WaitingRoom can avoid showing you installation prompts. It does not inspect job-search data on the WaitingRoom website for this purpose.

2. What the extension looks at

After you enable job detection, the extension checks whether an open web page appears to be an individual job listing. For likely job listings, it may read:

• the page URL;
• visible role, company, location, salary, and closing-date details;
• structured job-listing data published by the page, such as JobPosting JSON-LD.

This processing happens in your browser. The extension does not build or retain a browsing history and does not use page data for advertising or profiling.

3. What is sent to WaitingRoom

When a page appears to be a job listing, its normalized URL is sent to WaitingRoom to check whether that listing is already saved. The visible details extracted from the page remain in your browser until you choose Save job.

When you choose Save job, the extension sends the extracted job details, the vibe score and note you provide, and a private static copy of the listing. Scripts, embedded frames, and inline event handlers are removed from that copy before it is sent. The saved copy lets you revisit the listing if the original is changed or removed.

4. Permissions and access

Job listings can appear on many employer and recruitment websites, so the extension runs a content script on HTTP and HTTPS pages. That access is used only for the job-detection and saving features described here. Network access to WaitingRoom is used to check your sign-in status, check saved listings, load supported-site rules, and save jobs you request.

5. Storage, retention, and sharing

Your local enablement record and the access and refresh tokens that keep the extension signed in remain in extension-local browser storage. The tokens are used only to authenticate WaitingRoom requests and are removed when you log out of the extension, clear extension storage, or remove the extension. URLs sent for saved-status checks are not retained as a browsing log. Jobs and listing copies you choose to save remain in your WaitingRoom account until you delete the job, wipe your data, or delete your account.

If you open the extension while signed into the WaitingRoom website, the website may issue a single-use login handoff so the extension can create its own session. The website's refresh token is not copied or shared with the extension.

Extension data is handled by the service providers identified in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it for unrelated purposes.

6. Your controls

You can stop the extension from accessing pages by disabling or removing it through your browser's extension settings, or remove its local authentication session withLog out in the extension popup. You can delete saved jobs in WaitingRoom and export, wipe, or delete your account data from Settings.

7. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Our use of information received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use extension data only to provide and improve the user-facing job-saving features you request, maintain security, and comply with law.
